UPDATE: Service back on for CenturyLink customers after cut line
BEMIDJI — A cut CenturyLink fiber optic cable has been repaired and all impacted customers again have telephone and Internet service, company officials said early this morning.
A cut in the line Tuesday afternoon caused some outages in the Bemidji and Cass Lake areas, impacting telephone and Internet use, including emergency 911 service, for CenturyLink customers.
According to officials, a local power company employee accidentally cut a CenturyLink fiber cable, which caused the outage. Landline phone and Internet CenturyLink customers south of downtown Bemidji and east to the Power Dam area were primarily impacted, as well as some areas around Cass Lake. Customers of other telecommunication companies were not impacted by the outage.
