Update: Authorities identify two teens killed in auto crash near Benson, Minn

BENSON, Minn. -- Authorities have identified two teenagers killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday south of here as Cody DeVaan, 16, of rural DeGraff, and Benjamin Mast, 15, of Benson.

Authorities say the boys were passengers in a car driven by Justin Moist, 17, of rural Benson. The car struck the side of a semi tractor-trailer driven by Benjamin Miller, 33, of Benson, about 4:30 p.m.

DeVaan and Mast were both ejected from the vehicle. All were transported by ambulance to Swift County-Benson Hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, DeVaan and Mast were later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Moist was later transferred by helicopter to the North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minn.

Miller suffered minor injuries and was treated and released.
