United Way of Bemidji Area exceeds 2012 goal
The United Way of Bemidji Area revealed the results of the 2012 Community Campaign Thursday night at the annual Victory Dinner.
The 2012 United Way Community Campaign raised a total of $406, 248.62, exceeding the goal of $405,000.
United Way Board President Rita Albrecht presented awards to area businesses that made significant contributions to the campaign.
President’s Awards for donations of $1,000-$4,999 were presented to AmeriPride Services Inc., Kraus-Anderson Construction, Nortech Systems, North Country Business Products, Paul Bunyan Communications, Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota, Security Bank USA, Bemidji Co-op, Dondelinger GM, EAPC Architects, Ken K. Thompson Jewelry, MasTec North America, Inc., Northway Insurance, Otter Tail Power Company, Potlatch Land & Lumber, Renaissance Hearing Center, Target and UPS.
President’s Plus awards were given for contributions of $5,000-$9,999 to Enbridge, Knife River Materials, Norbord Minnesota Inc., and RiverWood Bank. First National Bank Bemidji received the President’s Plus Plus Award, which goes to a business that donates more than $10,000.
Campaign Chair Kristi Booth acknowledged the members of the Campaign Cabinet — JoAnne Daniels, Scott Turn, Jeff Peltier, Kari Knudson, Sheila Miller, Scott Kurtzweg and Kim Kusler — for their dedication and commitment to the United Way.
Workplace awards were given for fundraising campaigns that increased participation and funds raised.
Receiving gold awards were First National Bank Bemidji, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, Pinnacle Publishing, MedSave Family Pharmacy and Widseth Smith Nolting. Silver awards went to Evergreen Youth and Family Services and UPS. Earning bronze awards were North Country Business Products, Social Security Administration and Target.
Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota was honored for a workplace campaign where employees pledged and fundraised to an amount more than $20,000. First National Bank Bemidji and North Country Business Products were honored as workplaces where employee contributions through fundraisers and employee contributions totaled more than $15,000.
