Two-vehicle crash in Nevis Township

An Akeley woman may have been injured in a two-vehicle crash about 6 p.m. Thursday on state Highway 34 at the intersection of Hubbard County Road 2 in Nevis Township.

According to a press release from the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office:

A 1999 Subaru Forester driven by Theresa Flamm, 58, of Akeley, was traveling east on Highway 34 when she attempted to turn north onto County Road 2.

While turning, Flamm had pulled in front of a westbound 1996 International Truck driven by Karl Himan, 69, of Branson West, Missouri. Himan tried to avoid a crash, but the two vehicles collided, causing severe damage to the Subaru.

Flamm was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids by family members for precautionary reasons. No other injuries were reported.

Assisting at the scene were North Ambulance and Nevis First Responders.

The incident remains under investigation.
