Two injured in Highway 34 crash east of Detroit Lakes

Two people were hurt Wednesday afternoon when a pickup truck rolled on Highway 34 east of Detroit Lakes.

Thomas H. Proudfoot, 60, of Walker was the driver and suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Pacifica C. Schweigert, no age or residence listed, also suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

According to the State Patrol, a 2003 Ford pickup truck was eastbound on Highway 34 when it swerved across the westbound lane and entered the north ditch, rolling twice. Proudfoot and Schweigert were transported by St. Mary's Ambulance to St. Mary's Innovis Hospital.

The accident was reported at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday on dry blacktop at mile marker 45.

The Becker County Sheriff's Department, Frazee Police Department, Frazee Rescue, St. Mary's EMS and the Detroit Lakes Fire Department assisted at the scene.
