According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:

Samme J. Nehl, 41, of Squaw Lake, was driving a 1998 Cadillac Catera south when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a northbound 1999 Buick Park Avenue driven by Leah M. Swalboski, 30, of Northome.

Swalboski tied to avoid the collision by moving over, but the Catera struck the Park Avenue's front driver's side.

Air bags were deployed in both vehicles, which were totaled.

The two drivers were both treated and released at North Country Regional Hospital. Both had been wearing their seat belts.
