Six people filed for the three open seats on the Northome School Board before the filing deadline Tuesday. All are seeking to fill one of three seats being vacated by board members who chose not to run for another term.

The Northome candidates are Gary Dougherty, Florence Herbey, Derrick Wickum, Doug Jourdan, Kelli Steggal and Bill Eitenmiller.

In Blackduck, the chairman of the school board was among those filing for re-election for one of the four openings on the District 32 board. Dale Compton seeks to remain on the board, as does board member Mark Sparby. Both seek to fill one of three spots for a full four-year term, as do newcomers Rachel Larson and Rita Rabe.

Randy Lange filed for the two-year term, which is currently held by Robert Stroeng. Stroeng was named last year to fill a vacancy but said at the time he would not seek election.

The other vacancy was for the seat now held by Larry Zea who declined to run for another term.
