Two BHS students medal at state

Two Bemidji High School speech team members medaled at the Class AA State Speech Tournament April 17 at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn.

Senior Marcus Wax finished in a three-way tie for the discussion championship. He placed third after tie-breaking procedures were applied.

Also at state, senior Megan Casper was a finalist, and received a fourth-place medal in poetry interpretation.

Seniors Eddie Potter, Andrew Carter, Amos Miller and Cheyenne Kingbird also competed in the tournament.
