Truck driver killed in collision with train in Herman, Minn.

HERMAN, Minn. -- The driver of a truck was killed in a crash with a freight train Tuesday in Herman, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Department.

Bradley Vold, 47, of Graceville, was driving a semi loaded with soybeans on Third Street in Herman. At a railroad crossing, the eastbound tractor-trailer collided with a northbound BNSF train, the sheriff’s department said.

The crash detached the semi-tractor from the trailer, and the train pushed the semi-tractor for about 1,500 feet before stopping.

Emergency crews were called to the scene about 2 p.m., and they found Vold dead, the sheriff’s department said.
