ST. PAUL - Dr. Anton Treuer, Bemidji State University professor and cultural preservationist working to restore the Ojibwe language, will deliver the keynote address for this year's Facing Race Ambassador Awards hosted by the St. Paul Foundation.
Treuer is an award-winning author, community volunteer and racial equity advocate. One of his many accomplishments includes helping to launch Bemidji's bilingual signage program, in which businesses post signs with both English and Ojibwe text.
The April 23 awards ceremony reception will begin at 6 p.m., with the program beginning at 7 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza Riverfront in downtown St. Paul.
