TrekNorth, Schoolcraft receive finance award
BEMIDJI - TrekNorth Junior and Senior High School and Schoolcraft Learning Community, public charter schools in Bemidji, were recently awarded the 2012 Volunteers of America Minnesota Finance Award of Excellence.
Both schools were recipients of the Minnesota Department of Education's Finance Award and are authorized by Volunteers of America Minnesota.
According to Volunteers of America Minnesota, the schools received the award because they had an unassigned (unreserved) fund balance in excess of 30 percent, clean audits, used public funds properly, had an excess of 60 percent of expenditures directed to the instruction and demonstrated quality finance oversight.
In addition, the schools consistently reported financials to Volunteers of America Minnesota on a monthly basis.
