TrekNorth alters schedule because of weather
BEMIDJI — TrekNorth has adjusted its calendar in response to the difficult winter that has canceled five days of school and prompted three late-starts and one early-release.
The junior and senior high school located at 2400 Pine Ridge Ave. NW stayed consistent with the decision of Bemidji Area Schools in hosting a full day of class Wednesday.
However, TrekNorth students will not have school Monday, Presidents Day. Additionally, TrekNorth will not have school on March 7 or April 21.
Those dates differ from the schedule recently approved by Bemidji Area Schools.
TrekNorth will, however, convert March 6 into a full student day and host parent-teacher conferences to 4-8 p.m. that Thursday.
March 12 also will be converted from a half-day to a full day of school.
The school board for TrekNorth, a public charter district, noted that it made its decisions to ensure the school met the minimum number of instructional hours required but also to allow for adequate time for conferences and to respect staff’s need for a reliable calendar and adequate time off.
