TRACK: BSU hosts indoor track meet
BEMIDJI — The second in a series of indoor high school track and field meets at the BSU Gillett Recreation Center will be held today as the facility hosts the Paul Bunyan Invitational.
Among the 22 boys and 22 girls teams expected to compete are Bemidji, Trek North, Bagley-Fosston and Clearbrook-Gonvick.
The Lumberjacks and Flyers will be heading to the facility for the second time in four days.
On Saturday Bemidji captured the boys and girls titles of the Lions Invitational. Bagley-Fosston was third in the girls meet and fifth in the boys competition.
Today’s meet will begin at 1 p.m. with field events for boys and girls and the 4x800 relay. Some of the field events will be held at the John Glas Fieldhouse hockey rink.
The meet is expected to conclude about 7:30 p.m.
The third meet at the BSU Gillett Recreation Center will be April 1 when the facility is home to the Little Amik. As of Monday, 26 teams had registered for the meet.
The facility also will be home to the Aurora Borealis meet on April 8.
