Top-seeded Beavers host Wayne State in NSIC quarterfinals Wednesday
The No. 1-seeded Bemidji State University men's basketball team will host No. 8-seeded Wayne State in the quarterfinals of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference playoffs at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the BSU Gymnasium.
The Beavers earned the NSIC regular-season championship Saturday night with a 94-84 victory over Winona State.
The Beavers defeated Wayne State 67-61 in the only meeting between the teams this season Jan. 8 at Wayne, Neb.
The winner of Wednesday's game advances to the semifinals Saturday in Rochester, Minn. The NSIC final will be held Sunday at Rochester. The winner of the tournament earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Central Region Tournament March 10-13.
The Beavers (21-7) earned their 10th conference title in 90 years of program history. BSU is 12-2 at home this season.
