Tony Martin Beck, 51, of Bemidji died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his home.
Tony was born November 2, 1962 in Austin, Minnesota, the son of Kenneth Beck and Priscilla Kovar. He was raised and educated in Bemidji. He was an excellent wrestler and participated in the state tournament. He was in the pit crew for Mike Spaulding and Dick Jacobson at the Bemidji Raceway. He worked in Alaska for a year and then spent several years in Iowa and Michigan. He returned to Bemidji and worked for John Magnuson, Richard Dudley, Dave Holms and many others. For the last years, he was a millwright with Northern Horizons. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved fishing and hunting. He loved scavenging and restoring antiques and boats. He is the only one who could combine a corn field with an El Camino with his friend Ronnie Muller. He was a man of many talents. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and having Sunday mass with the "Professor". He loved his dogs.
He is survived by his wife Christine Beck, Children Joshua Butler, Ashley Beck, Danyell Beck, Arelle (Eric) Kaufman, 3 grandchildren- Jayden Smith, Dominique Campbell and Archer Kaufman, Sister Shelly Beck, Mother Priscilla (Mark) Kovar, Stepmother- Bernice Beck, Mother-in-law- Peggy Pickar and family, numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, 5 grandparents, several uncle and aunts.
A celebration of life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Backwoods Bar and Grill in rural Bemidji. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family. Condolences may be left at ceasefuneralhome.com.
