Todd Richard Johnson, 39, of Bemidji, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, of cancer at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Evangelical Free Church, Bemidji, with Rev. Fred Martin officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Frohn Eastside Cemetery, Beltrami County. Arrangements are entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Honorary pallbearers be "Al the Gang at Camp Edwardson."
Pallbearers will be Tony Johnson, Andy Risland, Jim Hirt, Bob Melhus, Mike Mischke, Katie Mischke, Joe Johnson and Tom George.
He was born Nov. 26, 1969, to Richard and Betty Jean (Risland) Johnson in Fridley, Minn. He grew up in Champlin, Minn., and graduated from Anoka High School in 1988. After high school, he attended Vermillion Community College and graduated from Bemidji State University. He then went on to graduate from Dunwoody Institute with his degree in land surveying, civil engineering and environmental services. He later became registered as a professional land surveyor in Minnesota. On Sept. 6, 1996, he married Tina Swenson in Las Vegas, Nev. For the last 13 years he worked for Landecker & Associates of Walker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, but his true love was spending time with his lwife and daughters, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of Bemidji; daughters, Paige, Janna and Abigail, all of Bemidji; parents, Richard and Betty Jean Johnson of Champlin, Minn.; brother, Tony (Janna) Johnson of Bemidji; mother and father-in-law; sister-in-law; three brothers-in-law; maternal grandparents, Ed and Mert Risland of Bemidji; paternal grandmother, Sylvia (Sanford Larson) Johnson of Brainerd, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl Johnson.
