Timothy "Chef Red" James Grenell, 51, of Bagley, died suddenly on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, with the Rev. Jason Scheer officiating.
He was born on Aug. 22, 1957, to James and Marilyn (Zahrbock) Grenell in St. Paul, Minn. He moved to Bagley in the summer of 2003, because he loved the trees, lakes, fishing, snowmobiling and four wheeling. He was employed as a chef at the Fireside Grill & Patio in Bagley. He was very creative at establishing the menu and he also enjoyed catering and private parties. He named two of his most popular dishes after his daughters, Pasta Katherine and Beef Lindsey. His greatest mentor was a chef who gave him the love and passion he had for food preparation and presentation. He also helped Pitch Black with seal coating jobs and enjoyed woodworking. He was proud to be a veteran of the armed forces.
He is survived by his daughters, Katie and Lindsey; their mother, Rose; a grandson; brother, Dennis; sister, Sheila Deane and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, James and his mother, Marilyn Turk.
