Tia Langhout earns six medals in dance

Tia Langhout of Suzy and Hondo School of Dance recently represented the Bemidji area at the annual Star of the North DanceSport Classic at the Ukranian Event Center in Minneapolis.

Langhout competed in six dances and earned gold medals in waltz and tango; silver medals in fox trot, rumba and east coast swing and a bronze medal in the cha cha cha. She competed as a youth Lady Amateur in the Mixed Proficiency American Smooth and American Rhythm categories and was partnered by her coach, John "Hondo" P. Langhout Jr.

The Star of the North is an all-amateur Ballroom dance competition run by USA Dance-MN Chapter 2011. The chapter has organized Star of the North every year since 1998 to give the local dance community an opportunity to perform, compete and watch great dancing.
