Thunderstorm moves quickly through Bemidji area

A brief but strong thunderstorm moved through the Bemidji area over the noon hour today, and the National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for this afternoon.

There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. The area will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 85 and west winds around 10 mph. New rainfall amounts of less will be than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.
