Three players join Bemidji State volleyball program
BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji State volleyball team announced the additions of three student-athletes to its 2012 signing class during the regular signing period. Chelsea Frison of Whitewater, Wis.; Ashley Kiecker of Hector, Minn.; and Molly Monahan of Hutchinson, Minn., all signed national letters of intent to play under Wayne Chadwick at BSU.
The trio joins Courtney Fox of Hutchinson, who signed during the early signing period as members of the 2012 signing class. Fox, Kiecker and Monahan were all teammates on the Hutchinson Area Elite Volleyball Club.
"This class is going to complement last year's freshman class very well," Chadwick said. "Last year's group had to do a lot of growing last season and I think they all really matured as the season progressed. They are going to be a solid group to build this program off of and I think this group we are bringing in for next season is the next piece of that puzzle. I knew going in we needed to get a setter and a middle after losing Jessi-Beth McCannell and Kimberly Hacker to graduation and we addressed that as a program with the additions of Ashley (Kiecker) and Chelsea (Frison). I also knew we needed a little more flexibility offensively and we think Molly (Monahan) is someone that can come in and help us in that respect. I am very excited about this class."
