Three injured in T-bone accident in Wadena County

A Park Rapids woman and White Earth woman were among three injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in Wadena County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Detroit Lakes:

A 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2001 Buick LeSabre collided in a broadside injury at 10:18 p.m.

The Jeep, driven by Levi R. Yliniemi, 32, of Menahga, Minn., was southbound on Highway 71 when it T-boned the LeSabre, which had turned in front of the Jeep in an attempt to make a U-turn.

The LeSabre, driven by Tamara C. Eischens, 21, of Park Rapids, had been stopped on the southbound shoulder of Highway 71 waiting to make a U-turn when it turned in front of the Jeep.

Eischens was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Area Health Services in Park Rapids with possible broken bones.

Two passengers in the Buick - Allen G. Bloom, 18, of Detroit Lakes, and Kathleen M. Beaupre, 18, of White Earth - were taken to St. Joseph's by ambulance with unknown injuries.

Neither Yliniemi nor his passenger, Andrea J. Ylinimi, 24, of Menahga, were injured. Both were wearing their seat belts.

Eischens was wearing her seat belt; Bloom and Beaupre were not.

The Jeep sustained moderate damage. The Buick was totaled.
