Three injured in Motley accident
A Bemidji woman and a man and woman from Cass Lake were injured Wednesday morning as a result of a crash on state Highway 64 near Motley.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol based in Brainerd:
At 7:01 a.m. Wednesday, Theresa L. Winch, 43, of Bemidji, was driving a 2005 GMC Safari south on Highway 64 in dry conditions when she lost control of the vehicle, which went into the southbound ditch, struck an approach and landed on the road blocking both lanes.
Winch and her front seat passenger, Wabigwahi L. Mountain, 25, of Cass Lake, were wearing seat belts and the air bags deployed. They suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at the Staples Hospital.
Thomas W. Casey, 25, of Cass Lake, the back seat passenger, was not wearing a seat belt. He was ejected and suffered severe head and chest injuries. He was taken to the Staples Hospital and remains in critical condition.
