Three arrested in rash of burglaries in Beltrami, surrounding counties
BEMIDJI -- Three suspects were arrested Saturday in connection with a rash of burglaries in Beltrami and surrounding counties.
Clearwater County deputies responded to the scene of a burglary early Saturday, according to a press release from Beltrami County authorities. Witnesses described a Toyota Tundra leaving the scene, authorities said. Later, Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped the vehicle and arrested the suspects after several items, including a gun, from the Clearwater County burglary were found in the vehicle.
Arrested were Joshua James Martin, 29, of Walker; Jeremy Jay Martin, 25, of Walker; and Jasmine Lee Bellcourt, 19, of Cass Lake, according to a press release from the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office. The trio are being held in the Clearwater County jail, officials said.
The Tundra also matched descriptions of a vehicle used in several earlier burglaries in Beltrami and Cass counties, the release said.
Beltrami County investigators and Cass County deputies went to one suspect’s residence near Walker with a search warrant and recovered stolen items from several burglaries reported in Beltrami, Cass and Mahnomen counties.
Several guns, pickups full of stolen property, a stolen trailer and approximately one ounce of methamphetamine were seized from the suspect's house, authorities said in the release.
The suspects currently are in Clearwater County Jail on burglary charges while the cases also are being reviewed by the county attorneys in Beltrami, Cass and Mahnomen counties.
Victims of the burglaries were contacted Monday to meet with investigators to recover their stolen property .
