Theresa "Terry" Louise (Newton) Wynne, 78, of Fosston died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at First Care Hospital in Fosston.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with the Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston. A reviewal will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Fosston.
She was born Jan. 1, 1930, to Alfred and Mamye (Flak) Newton in McIntosh, Minn. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in McIntosh, and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1947. She attended nursing school at Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D., and graduated as a registered nurse in September 1950. She worked in Denver, Colo., for a short time with her sister, Doris, then came back to Minnesota and worked for Dr. Roholt at the "Old" Fosston Hospital. She worked as a nurse for more than 50 years in Fosston. She was united in marriage to Donald H. Wynne on Sept. 9, 1951. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston. She was an avid Minnesota sports fan. She enjoyed their cabin at Lengby Lake, hunting and fishing, watching NASCAR, gardening, cooking, baking, and was well-known for her bread -making.
She is survived by her children, Barbara (John) Sather of Fosston, Craig (Nga) Wynne of Sartell, Minn., Tracy (Patrick) Logan of Anchorage, Alaska, and Scott Wynne of Fosston; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Gunderson of Anoka, Minn., Doris Troxel of Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada, and Ida Mae Talarico of Grand Junction, Colo.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and her brother, David Newton
