Thanksgiving holiday: What's open, what's closed

BEMIDJI – Most businesses will be closed today in observance of Thanksgiving Days, but some services will still be available.

Many businesses and government offices will reopen for business Friday.
-- Banks and credit unions: Most are closed today, but you should check with your bank to be sure.
-- Garbage: Residential garbage will not be picked up today. Curbside service scheduled for Thursdays will occur Friday this week.
-- Government: City of Bemidji and Beltrami County offices are closed Thursday and Friday.
-- Paul Bunyan Transit: Not operating Thursday or Friday.
-- Bemidji Public Library: Closed today. The drop-off for materials is available in the front of the building for returning materials. The library will reopen at 9 a.m. Friday.
-- Bemidji Post Office: Closed Thursday with no home delivery, but will reopen Friday.
-- Groceries: Lueken’s Village Foods will be open 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. today; Marketplace Food & Drug will be open 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. today; and Harmony Foods will be closed.
-- Bemidji public schools: Public schools and administrative buildings are closed today and Friday.
-- Colleges: No classes at Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College today and Friday.
-- Lake Bemidji State Park: Open for day use with proper permit, self-registration available. Offices closed today and Friday.
