Thank you: DAV chapter appreciates donations
North Central Minnesota Chapter #7 of Disabled American Veterans would like to thank those who donated clothing, equipment and money.
In the last year, thanks to all of you, North Central Minnesota Chapter #7 has spent $10,625 for veterans with many different needs.
We provided 48 pieces of medical equipment — scooters, lift chairs, walkers, canes, hospital beds, stair lifts, electric wheelchairs, regular wheelchairs and ramps to enable wheelchairs to access homes, to name a few. Our Disabled American Van (with the help of Fargo VA) has transported 60 veterans to the Fargo VA Hospital, as well as several being transported by Chapter #7 members own vehicles.
Our members have spent countless hours helping disabled veterans or their spouses. Our chaplain, as well as other members of Chapter #7, has made hospital visits, and home visits. Chapter #7 has helped spouses find the right contact person to help with their needs after the loss of a spouse. Veterans also have gotten the help for their needs.
It is the goal of North Central Minnesota Chapter #7 to help as many veterans as possible. Our members receive no money; it is all volunteer time. All donations to North Central Minnesota Chapter #7 can only be used for disabled veterans and their spouses, or, in rare cases, to other veterans. None of it can be used for community activity.
Thanks to each of you for your encouragement and support, without which this could not have happened.
If you have questions, call Commander Edwards at 556-4633 or Adjutant Saddoris at 243-2663.
The officers and members of North Central Minnesota Chapter #7 wish each of you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Adjutant Robert Saddoris
