Tennis team does well at Brainerd

Jessica Solberg and Amy Frosaker captured individual singles titles and Olivia Dickinson teamed with Annika Johnson to claim the fourth doubles crown at Monday's Brainerd Invitational.

The meet, which featured a round-robin format, attracted Bemidji, Virginia, Brainerd, Blaine and Delano.

Solberg won all four of her second singles matches in straight sets. Frosaker also went 4-0 against the field at third singles.

Dickinson and Johnson needed three sets to win three of their matches and claimed the other 7-5, 6-1.

At first singles Cortne Solberg was 2-2 to finish third while Claudia Bellew duplicated the performance at fourth singles.

Claire Baumgartner and Haley Pollock were third at second doubles. They won their first two matches but had to forfeit the next two because of an injury.

Emma Nielsen and Katie Ditmanson went 1-3 and placed fourth at first doubles as did Francesca Huerd and Jenna Lee at third doubles.
