Teen charged with felony assault

Daniel Thomas Peil, 16, of Lake George has been charged with felony third-degree assault -- substantial bodily harm, in Becker County Juvenile Court.

According to court records: He allegedly assaulted another young man at a gravel pit party in the Two Inlets State Forest in Becker County on June 7. Words were exchanged between the two and Peil allegedly hit him in the face and continued to strike him while he was on the ground, until he was restrained by others at the party. He said he was mad because the other guy was "talking crap" to him.

His first appearance is set for July 29 before District Judge Peter Irvine.
