Tanya Hasbargen/United Way: Giving to the max
On Thursday, please show your support for United Way of Bemidji Area and other non-profit organizations in our community. Nov. 14 is "Bemidji Gives" — an organized effort to bring "Give to the Max Day" efforts to the Bemidji community. A day that provides a one-day experience for our community to rally and invest philanthropically in some of the programs and services that make Bemidji a good place to live and work.
"Bemidji Gives — Give local, shop local" is a day dedicated to promoting philanthropy in our community. There are 20 downtown businesses paired with nonprofits or fundraising groups. You are invited to stop by the local establishments from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to learn about these programs and possibly give a donation. Visit www. UnitedWayBemidji. org for a list of participating businesses and the non-profit organization they are hosting.
If you haven’t donated to the United Way campaign, this is a great opportunity to show your support. And, if you have already donated or pledged during the campaign, you are still welcome to make a minimal donation to reflect your dedication. We are having fun with Thursday event, suggesting donors consider a minimum $11.14 donation to United Way of Bemidji Area.
I hope you will look at the www. GiveMN. org website and search ‘Bemidji’ to see all of the non-profits who are looking for your support. Click and give online, or find their address and send them a donation, or simply call them up and give a verbal pledge. The mission of the one-day event is to have you exercise your philanthropic rights to donate to area non-profits, and invest in the Bemidji community.
