Tamarac photo contest deadline is Sept. 14

ROCHERT, Minn. -Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge is hosting its 11th annual photo contest. The entry deadline is Sept. 14.

All entries submitted must have been taken on the refuge within the past two years. The contest is open to amateur photographers of all ages and includes a youth division for ages 12 and younger and ages 13-17.

First, second, third and honorable mentions will be awarded in each category, which include: Wildlife, plant life, scenic landscapes, nature's abstracts and recreation.

All photos will be displayed at the refuge during the annual Fall Festival on Sept. 29 and at Washington Square Mall in Detroit Lakes, Minn., from Oct. 8-13 during National Wildlife Refuge Week.

Visitors to each event will vote for their favorite photo and a People's Choice award will be given to the photo with the most votes. All winners will be announced Oct. 14.
