Sylvia Hanson, 85, of Bemidji, MN, went home to the Lord, Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, Bemidji with Pastor Corey Fuhrman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
Sylvia was born on January 24, 1928 in Buxton, ND, the daughter of Norwegian immigrants Martha and Ole Hagen. She grew up in Grand Forks, ND and graduated from Central High School in 1947. Sylvia married Clarence Hanson on June 15, 1947. They started their family in Grand Forks and then moved to Clearbrook, MN where they purchased part ownership of the B&H Hardware. In 1958 they started an electrical business and moved to Bagley, MN. In 1967 they moved to Bemidji. Sylvia was a homemaker, member of First Lutheran Church, the Sons of Norway and was involved with all of her childrens activities. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by sons, Stephen (Bunny) Hanson of Bemidji, and Richard (Val) Hanson of Bemidji; daughters, Debby (Mike) Marshall of Sheboygan, WI and Mary (Scott) Hartje of Bemidji; daughter-in-law, Linda Hanson of Plymouth; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; two sons, David and Bradley; four sisters, Clara, Bernice, Roma and Orpha; five brothers, Trigve, Ordean, Oscar, Norman and Ronnie.
