Suzanne Kathleen Cole, 37, of Park Rapids and Brooklyn Park, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis.
She was born Aug. 5, 1971 in Minneapolis to Roger and Kathie (Larson) Cole. She graduated from Osseo High School in 1989. She also graduated from North Hennepin Community College and St. Cloud State University with a BS degree in social work. She also had an X-ray technician degree from Hi-Tech Institute. Before her illness she was employed by DMS Imaging Company in Maple Grove. For the past year she lived in Park Rapids with her parents.
She attended Hubbard United Methodist Church where she participated in the Threads of Love quilting group.
On May 22, 1999 she had a liver transplant and eight years of good health there after. During this time she participated in two Transplant Olympic Games in Minneapolis and in Louisville, Ky. In 2007 she contracted E. coli sepsis from which she never fully recovered.
She is survived by her parents; maternal grandmother, Lois Larson, of Marshall; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Honorary casket bearers: Anne Cole Patterson, Keri Hoover Comb, Gina Young Wibstad, Paula Young Rose, Stephanie Fischer and Britta Larson.
Active casket bearers: Christopher and Grant Hoover, Dr. David Cole, Timothy Fischer, and Jeffrey and Thomas Kuehn.
Funeral service: Monday, March 2 at Hubbard United Methodist Church in Hubbard with Donald L. Fischer as officiant.
Interment: Bethel Lutheran Cemetery near Dorset.
