A sports utility vehicle slid on ice Sunday while driving along U.S. Highway 2 east of Wilton, causing it to run into the rear end of a Minnesota Department of Transportation snowplow.
No one was injured in the crash.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:
Jordan D. Murphy, 17, of Lengby, was driving east at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday when his 1996 GMC Jimmy slid on the icy roadway and ran into the left rear area of the MnDOT plow, driven by Michael D. Bowe, 59, of Kelliher.
Bowe was actively plowing snow with the blades down. All hazard lights appeared to be working. Murphy said he was aware of the plow's presence.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The sports utility vehicle sustained severe damage in the crash. The plow sustained moderate damage, but was driveable.
