Suspected pot-growers arrested
Bemidji Minnesota P.O. Box 455 56619

Brett Anthony Wheeler, 40, and Dawn Marie Wheeler, 37, were arraigned Thursday in Hubbard County District Court for fifth-degree possession of an illegal drug. A $3,000 bond or $300 cash bail was set for both.

The Wheelers were arrested at about 3 p.m. Wednesday and charged after Hubbard County deputies found their alleged indoor marijuana-growing operation.

According to a press release from Hubbard County, deputies executed a search warrant at 48767 County Road 3 in Fern Township and found an indoor hydroponics grow operation in which the Wheelers were allegedly using sophisticated lighting, heating and ventilation equipment to grow marijuana inside.

The search warrant was the result of surveillance and information-gathering on the residence, the press release said.

Seized during the search were several mature marijuana plants, aqua water purifiers, electric heaters, timers, water pumps and high-pressure sodium light fixtures with reflective heating sheets, the release said.

The investigation continues.
