Supervalu names Wal-Mart leader as its CEO
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Supervalu Inc. says it has appointed a Wal-Mart executive as its new chief executive officer.

Craig Herkert will assume the position of CEO from Jeff Noddle, who has led the Minneapolis-based national grocery chain since 2001.
Herkert became president and CEO of Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s Americas region in 2004.
The company says a start date has not been set for Herkert. Noddle will serve as executive chairman of Supervalu for at least one year before he departs.
