Street dance to benefit Fire Department; state conference in Bemidji this weekend

BEMIDJI — Part of a downtown street will be closed Friday night for a street dance and concert.

The first annual Fire and Ice Street Dance will be held outside of the Classic Hard Times Saloon and Toasty Beaver’s Bar and Grill on Third Street Northwest.

Gates open at 7 p.m. and there is a $7 cover charge. Beer and a full bar will be available.

The event is also a fundraiser for the Bemidji Fire Department and will feature the Fargo-based band 32 Below. It coincides with the Minnesota State Fire Department Association’s annual conference in Bemidji this weekend.

A memorial service for the 46 firefighters who passed away in 2012 will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Sanford Center, and a parade in downtown Bemidji will follow at 3 p.m. The Bemidji Fire Department will have an open house at fire station No. 1, 318 Fifth St. NW, at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
