The Beltrami County Emergency Management office received reports of larger amounts, from 7 inches near Red Lake, 9 inches in Waskish and 10 inches near Blackduck and Kelliher.
The totals closed or delayed schools throughout the region due to snow and ice-packed roads.
And while Beltrami County received its share of snow, the total could have been much higher.
Some locations in northeast North Dakota received more than a foot of snow, with the Sarles area reporting 18 inches.
