The Beltrami County Emergency Management office received reports of larger amounts, from 7 inches near Red Lake, 9 inches in Waskish and 10 inches near Blackduck and Kelliher.

The totals closed or delayed schools throughout the region due to snow and ice-packed roads.

And while Beltrami County received its share of snow, the total could have been much higher.

Some locations in northeast North Dakota received more than a foot of snow, with the Sarles area reporting 18 inches.

The weather service’s forecast for the upcoming week in Bemidji projects a gradual warming trend, which should hasten the spring thaw.

Here’s a look at the weather service’s daytime forecast for Bemidji:

Today – Mostly sunny, with a high near 26.

Thursday – Partly sunny, with a high near 32.

Friday – Partly sunny, with a high near 32.
