Stevens took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and was in complete control.

"This was Ryan's best outing of the year," said Jacks coach Mike Fogelson. "He was in complete control. The only runs West Fargo scored were because of our errors."

The Lumberjacks had nine hits and four of them were for extra bases. In the second inning Zach Solheim doubled home a run and Cody Jenkins delivered the decisive blow in the third when he belted a 3-run round-tripper.

Tyler Follis added an important insurance tally in the seventh with a solo home run.

Cody Rutledge also had a productive offensive game as he contributed a double and two singles.

"This was a well-played game by two quality teams," Fogelson said. "This is the way we want to play. We have had back-to-back strong performances against two very good teams in Sauk Rapids (a 4-3 win Saturday) and West Fargo.

"If we play like this the rest of the season we'll be in great shape."

In Monday's junior varsity game Ryan Hirt pitched a 1-hitter and struck out 14 to power the Jacks to an 8-0 win.

Hirt held West Fargo hitless until the leadoff hitter in the seventh inning pounded a pitch off the fence.

Connor McNallan keyed a 6-run fourth inning for Bemidji with a 2-run single.

Cody Labernick collected three singles and Nick Conner added a pair of hits.

Monday's victory gave Bemidji a 10-3 record.
