Stefan John Pederson, 65, of Shevlin, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Regency Hospital in St. Paul, Minn.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Country Faith Church in Clearbrook. A burial of his cremated remains and those of his brother, sister and grandson, will be held in July, in Waubun, Minn.
He was born June 2, 1943, to James and Ann Peterson, in White Earth, Minn. He married Shelly Moe Pederson on Nov. 6, 1976 and they raised four children. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-1965. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry from the University of Minnesota in 1976. He was employed by the State Fed Forestry in Marcell, Minn. He was also employed as a forestry teacher in Red Lake from 1979-1989. He enjoyed milking cows and loved having the kids help. He enjoyed spending time with people, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Carol (Jason) Ervasti of Bertha, Minn., and Christina Pederson of Shevlin; sons, Paul Pederson of Shevlin, Cody Pederson of Shevlin and John Pederson of Minneapolis and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dave Pederson; sister, Becky; and a grandson.
