Cassandra M. Anderson, 25, of McIntosh, died when the 2005 Chevrolet Malibu she was driving rolled along U.S. Highway 2 west of McIntosh. She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:

Anderson was driving east in the passing lane on Highway 2 about 6:33 p.m. when she went off the roadway on the left side "by a couple of tire widths, came back onto the roadway, over-corrected and went off the road left again."

The 2005 Malibu rolled in the median, went across the westbound lanes and came to rest on its wheels in the north ditch of the westbound lanes.

The vehicle was totaled.

The accident remains under investigation.
