Rob Pemberton's perfect season came to an end at the Class A State Golf Tournament on Thursday, but he finished on a high note.
The Red Lake senior, who was medalist in every meet he entered during the regular season, began the day in 17th place and shot 76 at Pebble Creek to move into the top 10.
Pemberton finished alone in ninth place with a two-day total of 156.
Dillon Schultz of Springfield/Comfrey won the tournament with a two-day total of 144 after shooting 70 on the final day.
Two tied for second place at 151, three more tied for third at 154 and two tied for seventh at 155.
Alex Mireault of Fosston finished tied for 13th place at 159. Blackduck's Steven Sunnell was tied for 49th a 177.
Rushford-Peterson won the team title with a two-day, four-man total of 655. Hawley was second at 660 and Springfield/Comfrey was third at 665.
In the Class A State Girls Tournament, Cass Lake-Bena's Anne Aitken finished alone in 22nd in her second straight trip to the state tournament.
She finished with a two-day total of 190.
Anna Maria Tarazona of Madelia won the tournament by three strokes, edging Sarah Utz of Providence Academy with a two-day total of 154.
Mounds Park won the team title with a two-day total of 700, beating second place Mahnomen by 78 strokes.
