Winners have been selected for the Stars Over Paul Bunyan Mall Photography Contest sponsored by Image Photography.

Earlier this year, as part of the overall Stars Over Paul Bunyan Mall program, the center hosted "The World At Night," a photography exhibit featuring more than 30 images of the world's landmarks set against the night sky.

Paul Bunyan Mall held a local contest encouraging members of the community to submit photographs of Bemidji at night. Contestants were asked to capture images in different categories, including the solar system, buildings or structures at night, deep sky or any subject taken at night.

The three winners were announced Oct. 31.

The grand prize winner, Steve Lien, submitted a mysterious image of galaxies in space and will receive a $300 gift certificate to a Paul Bunyan Mall store of choice.

Michael Thomas Sunnarborg took second place with his photograph of a Minnesota sunset in Bemidji, receiving a $200 gift certificate. The third-place winner, Jeff Farr, will receive a $100 gift certificate for his dynamic black-and-white image of train tracks at night.

The winners' photographs will be featured on the Paul Bunyan Mall Web site as well as Image Photography's Web site. They will also be displayed at Center Court of the mall.

Paul Bunyan Mall is located at 1401 Paul Bunyan Drive N.W., For details or to view the winning images, visit the mall's Web site at www.paulbunyanmall.com.
