St. Philip's student crowned Geography Bee champion

On Jan. 8, St. Philip's School in Bemidji crowned a new National Geographic Geography Bee champion.

Fifth-grader Jonah Muller correctly answered two of the three questions in the final round of the competition to be declared the winner. He received a $50 savings bond and will take a written test to qualify for the statewide competition.

Eighth-grader Ben Wilander was the runner up.

Students in grades 5-8 took a written test in December, 2009. Over 50 students competed in the oral round of the bee. Eleven students were selected as finalists.
