St. Paul man sentenced for gun negligence that injured son

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A St. Paul father has been sentenced to probation for negligently storing a gun that was used to shoot and injure his 2-year-old son.

The toddler was shot in the head after his 9-year-old brother found the loaded gun in a file cabinet in his parents' bedroom last August. A criminal complaint says the older boy didn't know the gun was loaded. The younger child is in physical therapy and is recovering.

The St. Paul Pioneer Presssays Lue Xiong's (zhong's) two years of probation include speaking to the public about gun safety.
