St. Cloud State names arena for legendary coach

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) — St. Cloud State University will rename its hockey arena after renowned coach Herb Brooks.


The coach made famous for guiding the U.S. Olympic hockey team to gold in 1980, also helped spearhead the St. Cloud State's men's hockey team's move to the NCAA Div. 1 level, among many other coaching accomplishments. Brooks died in a car accident in 2003.
