Sportsline: St. Scholastica baseball coach Baggs dies
John Baggs, the longtime St. Scholastica baseball coach, died after a four-month battle with cancer at the age of 42.
Baggs was hired as a 24-year-old in 1991 and built the program into a Division III power. The Saints won 12 consecutive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference titles and lost in the NCAA Midwest regional finals last season. He had a career record of 531-197 in 17 seasons.
