The Drakes Speech team competed in a 32 team tougher than nails tournament March 3 in Walker.

Overcoming difficult competition, Blackduck put three speakers into finals and four into honors finals.
The Drakes had one tournament Champion -- Maile Olson in Original Oratory. Matthew Jedlica took second place in Drama and Tyler Dobmeier took fourth place in Great Speeches.
Honors finalists were Madison Stelton in Creative Expression, Morgan Jung in Great Speeches, Katie O'Rourke in Prose and Michaela Holmgren in Storytelling.
The junior high speech team traveled to Park Rapids.
