Someone Special Volunteers: Vicki Ross Rhoades, Mary Auger earn awards
The Bemidji Pioneer, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, Ken K. Thompson and the United Way recognize "Someone Special Volunteers" who have made significant contributions to the community.
Evergreen House, Inc. has nominated Vicki Ross Rhoades and Mary Auger as special volunteers.
Ross Rhoades is a long-standing board member for Evergreen House and has served as secretary-treasurer for many years. She is currently a very active member of the Building Committee, Sustainability Committee, Personnel Committee, Finance Committee and Nominating Committee. Her financial oversight as an accountant keeps Evergreen on top of all regulatory requirements and clear of financial problems. Ross Rhoades tirelessly looks for ways to support and promote the organization publicly as well as find funding for its various programs often at her own time and expense.
Mary Auger is a long-standing board member of the Evergreen House and is currently its Board Chair. She is also a very active member of the Building Committee, Sustainability Committee and Program Committee. Auger has contributed hundreds of hours to Evergreen's current project of building a new Transitional Housing and Evergreen Community Service Program site, drawing from her previous extensive experience on the design team for planning and constructing the new High School while on the School Board. Auger's clear thinking has served to eliminate many challenges along the way.
Evergreen is a human services nonprofit that seeks to strengthen youth and preserve families in the greater Bemidji area.
