Bemidji Citizen Patrol has nominated Palmer Berg and Penny Pokorny as special volunteers.

As a charter member of the Citizen Patrol, Palmer Berg has served the community faithfully for more than 12 years. As a Shriner and 32nd degree Mason, he also serves in the regional marching band. Despite having a very busy schedule, he always manages to answer the call when a request for assistance comes from the Bemidji Police Department or other area civic or emergency service organization.

Penny Pokorny is an extremely valuable member of the Patrol. While active in several volunteer groups in the area, her response to calls for assistance from the Police Department, whether late at night or early in the morning, or calls from other emergency and civic groups throughout the year, are always answered with enthusiasm, cheerfulness and professionalism. She is a welcome asset to the Citizen Patrol.

Members of the Bemidji Citizen Patrol, which is under the direction of the Bemidji Police Department, are the "eyes and ears" for the department, patrolling city streets and neighborhoods and providing other security services to the community.
