Someone Special Volunteers for 07/13/2014
The Bemidji Pioneer, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, Ken K. Thompson and the United Way recognizes "Someone Special Volunteers" who have made significant contributions to the community.
Community Resource Connections has nominated Karen Pope as a Someone Special
volunteer. Pope has been an essential part of Community Resource Connections since 2000. She contributes office support at the Blackduck location by assisting with copies, filing, helping with fundraising, distributing food commodities boxes and many more tasks. Pope goes above and beyond with anything that is asked of her. She also utilizes her sewing talents to decorate the office each month to make it welcoming for the community. Everyone looks forward to Pope's caring and friendly face. Over her 14 years with CRC, she has helped staff and community in countless ways. CRC is lucky to have such a dedicated volunteer.
Girl Scouts has nominated Ruth Walters as a Someone Special volunteer.The Girl Scout organization has been building girls of courage, confidence and character through leadership activities for more than 100 years. Volunteers are the heart of the organization. Walters has been a Girl Scout volunteer for six-plus years, helping to lead and inspire girls. She's a great role model and believes in giving back to the community. She helps at events, day camp, and the cookie sale as well as meeting with her troop. Her positive attitude, spirit of adventure and willingness to help truly make her someone special.
